Holy Shit...
Hate Hate Hate…  A radical Baptist church in Kansas known for picketing the funerals of soldiers who perished in Iraq said it intends to protest Heath Ledger’s memorial service with signs claiming the actor died and is in Hell because he played a gay character in “Brokeback Mountain.” Shirley Phelps-Roper of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka said that she and other members will...

GameSpy: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Preview →
I hate how they keep referring to the Wii as current-gen. I know that it doesn’t have the HD capabilities of the 360 or the PS3, but graphical innovation should not be the benchmark for progress in gaming hardware. That said, I am happy that they seem pleased with how this game is turning out. I look forward to playing it both on the Wii and the 360.

This Week in Movies
I got out to the theater twice this week and had two amazing experiences. Wednesday night I saw Sweeney Todd. Even if you’re not a fan of musicals there is still plenty to love in this movie. The story is fantastic and the performances are all solid. You really can’t go wrong with a Tim Burton flick, can you? It’s sad, suspenseful, funny, and full of arterial spray. Last night...

My Cat
There are two times during an average day that my cat (who is named Beatrix Kiddo (yeah, I know I’m awesome at naming things)) absolutely loves to see me. One of those times, naturally, is when I come home from work. The other is when I get out of bed. I used to think she liked to see me in the morning because she knew she was about to be fed. But today it occurred to me that she...

Reblog Day
I’m pretty busy at work today, but I can’t stay away from Tumblr. So, with the exception of this post, I am adding no original commentary to anything I post today. Everybody out there should post lots of cool things that I would like to reblog.

Marie Smith Jones, last full-blooded member of... →
Marie Smith Jones died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, in Anchorage, Alaska. She was the last full-blooded Eyak and speaker of the native language. Linguist Michael Krauss has been working with her for years in an effort to preserve a dictionary and grammar of the language, and, as he put it: With her death, the Eyak language becomes extinct[.] According to Krauss, there are another 20...

How did I never hear about Fido? Paraphrasing the plot synopsis, Fido is a zombie buddy pic/love story set in a picture-perfect, technicolored 1950s suburb. With the world still recovering from a zombie war, the town of Willard has found a way to keep the peace by domesticating the undead, turning them into faithful servants of the human race. — confessions I also haven’t heard about this...

I watched this video over the weekend. I haven’t gotten around to downloading the game yet, but it looks great! The only thing that would make it better is if it were an actual SNES ROM rather than a stand-alone application. Then I could fire it up in an emulator on a console.
